Top 7 Anti-Aging Tips for Your Skin

Date:

Everybody wants to grow old but nobody wants to look old. You could spend fortunes on
cosmetics products and not get your desired result. There are anti-ageing tips for the skin that tend to reverse the hands of time if followed.

This is not to say cosmetic products/brands are not effective for the skin. However, if you
combine cosmetics brands and certain anti-ageing tips, you will look younger than your age
mates.

Anti-ageing tips every woman should know

  1. Use a Gentler Face Wash

Instead of using face wash like those made for acne, it is better to use a face wash with a gentle formula. MD Complete Anti-Aging Restoring Cleanser & Makeup Remover is used by so many women as a face wash. This is because it is mild, contains fatty acid, hydrates the skin and fights against free radicals.

When using a gentle face wash, do not scrub aggressively to avoid irritation.

  1. Take Enough Sleep

Inadequate sleep and stress are also responsible for ageing signs. One of the most important anti-ageing tips is to ensure beauty sleep at all times. Sleeping enhances the physical and mental health of a person as well as their skin health.

You should sleep for a minimum of 8 hours a day to wade off ageing signs. And during sleep, ensure you do not sleep on your side to avoid the cheek being affected by ageing signs.

  1.  Start Using Retinoids

As you grow old, your skin loses collagen, which is a protein that keeps the skin smooth and lifted. The loss of collagen affects the general outlook of the skin but to reverse the effect, use Retinoids.

Available in pharmacies and online, RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream is one
of the milder over-the-counter retinoid skin products. However, do not combine retinoids with benzoyl peroxide, an acne treatment. This is because benzoyl peroxide can diminish the effectiveness of certain retinoids by oxidising them.

  1. Eat Balanced Diet

Eating clean and healthy is one of the recipes for good health and skin. This lays credence to the saying that “you are what you”.

If you include green veggies and fruits in your diet, it will minimize anti ageing signs on your skin. Do well to avoid sugary and overly processed food. Instead, add the following to your diet:

  •  Veggies like broccoli, spinach, kale, cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes
  •  Fruits like pineapple, watermelon, orange, pomegranate, and orange
  • Nuts
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Oatmeal
  1. Use a Richer Face Cream

Moisturization of the skin minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As you grow old, the old glands because less active which can leave the skin dry.

Kindly check the ingredients of your face cream to ensure that it is richly formulated to minimize ageing signs. Do not restrict the application of the cream to your face, rub it down to your neck and upper torso.

  1. Hydrate

Adequate intake of water is one of the anti-ageing tips that work. Water clears the pores of the skin and reduces the chances of wrinkling. 8-9 glass cups of water per day are recommended for healthy and clear skin.

Aside from water, you can keep a decent level of hydration by enhancing the taste of the water by squeezing a fresh lemon into it. Having an appropriate content of vitamin C, lemons help to keep the skin brighter and younger.

  1. Exercise

You cannot exercise “too much” because of the numerous health and physical benefits it
presents. Exercising keeps you healthy, and fit. It glows your skin while reducing ageing signs.

You do not have to hit the gym daily to look young, taking a long walk is good enough to keep ageing signs at bay. If you find yourself busy with work, avoid sitting in a spot for too long. Intermittent exercise is enough to give you a younger look.

  1. Consider Supplements

Sometimes, adopting some anti-ageing techniques will give you results but adding supplements will accelerate the result. For example, Omega-3s are found to reduce dewiness in ageing skin. This supplement can be found in salmon.

If you do not eat fish or its product, you can try fish oil or flaxseed oil supplements. These
supply the skin by replenishing its lipid that is found to diminish with them. These supplements also act as anti-inflammatory agents for people who have acne.

  1. Exfoliate Weekly

The skin is regenerative. It sheds dead cells by itself every 28 days and creates a new layer. If the process is left unchecked, it can cause the skin to look dull with patches.
During exfoliation, the build-up of dead cells is removed to make the skin appear brighter. It is recommended that you exfoliate the skin weekly. You can use scrubs to exfoliate but be sure to avoid products with microbeads.

  1. Say No to Smoking and Alcohol

Smoking and drinking alcohol have many side effects. Aside from the fact that it can affect the health of the internal organs of the body, it can accelerate ageing as well. If you are addicted to smoking and drinking, quit enhancing your appearance.
