If You Want to Have Healthy Skin: Eat The Meals listed Here

Date:

If the assertion that “you are what you eat” is true, then everyone is responsible for how they look, young or old. While there are other factors that affect the looks of a person, the place of diet cannot be over-emphasized to have healthy skin.

Some people have broken skin, and others have dry skin but all of these issues are very well related to what is taken into the body system. Conversely, a person that eats a balanced diet does not just look healthy, their skin tends to glow.

Foods for Healthy For The Skin?

Healthy Skin

Although there are different classes of foods, there are some that specifically affect looks. It is not every food that is good even though it may satisfy your cravings. According to several nutritionists, a balanced diet works on the skin like it’s a treatment.

We take a look at some of the foods that are responsible for glowing up the skin.

Low-Fat Dairy Products.  There’s a huge claim that the health of the skin is mostly determined by Vitamin A, and the most reliable source of the vitamin is in low-fat dairy products.

For people nursing diabetes or any thyroid illness, research has shown that A-rich meals are good for them. The main issue with these people is the fact that they cannot convert beta carotene to vitamin A, and as you know, this is the form found in foods mostly associated with vitamin A.

According to Lipski, low-fat yoghurt is found to have both vitamin A and acidophilus, a bacteria that affects the outlook of the skin.

Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and plums.

There are foods with very high antioxidant concentrations, the aforementioned fruits are among those and they probably have the highest antioxidant capacity than any other foods or fruits. Eating any of the fruits has several benefits for the body and the skin because:

Free Radicals – when the skin is exposed to excessive sun rays, certain cells might eventually be damaged as a result. However, antioxidants found in these fruits protect the skin from any potential damage.

The other advantage of preventing cells from disintegration and damage is not only the fact that your skin is protected, but you also would not age prematurely. So when you have these fruits, you glow and look younger than your age.

There are other fruits and vegetables that also have a high antioxidant capacity, they include Beans, prunes, pecans, and artichokes.

Salmon, Walnuts, Canola Oil, and Flax Seed.

The above foods are a source of essential fatty acid, which is very healthy for the skin.

Essential fatty acids account for the health of the cell membranes, which primary function is to prevent harmful things from going in and out of the cells.

The Cell membranes also retain water inside of it, therefore if the barrier is better, it means you’d look younger and plumper because the cell can hold moisture.

According to a nutritionist named Heller, Essential fatty acids protect the arteries, heart, and skin from inflammation.

The most reliable source of fatty acids is omega 3 and omega 6, Fish, Walnut, and flaxseed oil are among the best sources of essential fatty acids.

Healthy Oils.

Healthy Oils have nutrients that are much more than essential fatty acids. They function to keep the skin lubricated and give a healthy feeling.

You want to ask about the oil that befits the skin, they include extra virgin, expeller processed, or the one labelled cold-pressed.

Most processed oils are not very good for the skin. This is because several solvents may be added to them which makes them lose important nutrients.

According to research, for oils that are processed via cold-press or expeller process, the preparation normally involves only pressing, heating and bottling which gives you all the nutrient that is good for your skin and body.

It is recommended that you do not take more than two tablespoons of fat in a day because of the high calories in it.

Whole-wheat bread, muffins, and cereals; turkey, tuna and brazil nuts.

The aforementioned foods contain an element that is dubbed selenium, which is fundamental for the health of the skin. For instance, skin damage caused by the sun has some consequences if the level of selenium is high. Where the selenium content is high in the skin, the cells are less likely to suffer what is termed oxidative damage which can increase cancer risk.

Oral doses of selenium with vitamin E, Vitamin A, and copper are likely going to prevent the formation of sunburn cells in the skin.

Green Tea.

Green Tea has been highly recommended by dieticians to those who are looking to maintain a healthy weight and skin.

Green tea has anti-inflammatory properties that are protective of the cell membrane. Whatever protects the cell membrane also prevents the skin from cancer.

A study also showed that if you take green tea orally or apply it to the skin, you’re less likely going to have sunburn or cancer because your skin will be protected.

Green tea also contains polyphenols which have anti-inflammatory agents that are good for the skin.

Water.

When you take enough water, it leaves your skin hydrated. The hydration we are talking about here has nothing to do with soda or even alcohol.

According to an expert, the skin needs up to half a gallon of clean water – about eight glass cups per day.

You may consider taking hard water too because it contains a high mineral that is potentially good for the skin. Using softeners for water de-mineralizes the water and reduces the potentially helpful effects.

Water softener helps to plumb but it is claimed that hard water is better for health.

Water aids the cells to remove toxins from the body and leaves the skin hydrated which in turn gives us a better outlook.
